Undecided Question

Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics – best first round match up ever?

Almost all of them have gone to overtime and decided by 1 or 2 pts. This past one went to 3 overtimes.

Will the refs finally finish the Chicago Bulls run?

Will the refs finally finish the Chicago Bulls run?

Look I get that it's a tough job and I'm not usually the one to jump at these guys because I know that the job they do is a tough one, but THESE GUYS FLAT OUT SUCK. The refs that referee playoff games are supposed to be the best of the best. That means there should be minimal mistakes made throughout a series. These guys have done everything they could possibly do to give Boston this series. They've called fouls that weren't fouls on the Bulls, they've given Boston the ball when they throw it out of bounds on their own clear as day, they don't call anything Rondo does to DRose, Miller gets hacked in the must crucial point of the game, a clear flagrant foul and nothing is called on Rondo, even as we speak Noah just got a foul called that was clearly on Perkins.

So will the refs finally finish off the Bulls tonight because since the Celtics couldn't do that on their own, the refs are clearly doing whatever they can to give the defending champs every chance possible to advance to the next round. I don't know why because if they have this much of a struggle in round 1 against the Bulls I hate to see how bad they'll get slaughtered in round 2. If I were a Boston fan, I would be embarrassed that my team needed this much help from the officials to get past the Bulls.

Stern extends Bulls-Celtics series to best-of-11
By J.E. Skeets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The Chicago Bulls-Boston Celtics first round playoff matchup will expand to a best-of-11 series beginning immediately, NBA Commissioner David Stern said late Thursday night from his bed via webcam.

The quick switch from a best-of-seven format, agreed to by the players' union and NBA fans around the globe, means hopefully four more overtime classics between the two proud teams.

"I told the organizations that it would be important for the league to extend this series to 21 games, but [Celtics owner] Wyc [Grousbeck] and [Bulls owner] Jerry [Reinsdorf] said they couldn't go long that and that's too bad," Stern said. "Both owners were worried about killing their franchise players by exhaustion, so best-of-11 it is."

The other series and rounds will remain best-of-seven.

In exchange for agreeing to extend the series, the league will reportedly increase the playoff pool to be divided among players on both the Celtics and Bulls by $50 dollars.

The series is tied 3-3, and Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday in Boston.

Game 8 will tip Monday night in Chicago.
