   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Not many companies do 3 month insurance policies anymore, but alot of them do 6 month policies, it's not at all uncommon. Progressive is a very competitive rate company right now, as well as Mendota, State Auto, and Ohio Casualty. I personally would recommend staying away from the heavily TV advertised companies, i.e. Geico, Safe Auto etc. as they tend to have horrible customer service, and claims once you are a customer.    How old are you? Although just about all companies do this, most will only do short policies if you are over 21 – HIC are the only company I know that will do younger, but you have to be 20.Your only other option would be to get a 12 month policy and then just cancel it when you no longer require it – there will be charge involved, and this varies so check it before you buy your policy. Although this might not actually work out any more expensive as insurance company usually charge more per month on shorter policies!    I am only 19 years old and i have a cheap car insurance company called mercury insurance. i pay four months then get two off. hope this helps.

   Theres a couple of options, you could take out a policy and pay monthly and cancel when you dont need it, or pay for a year and cancel and receive a rebate. Or use a comparison site to have a look for short term policies, try someone like http://www.moneysupermarket0o0com/motor/

   you will be hard pressed to get that sort of insurance but norwich union does a 9 month policy called rapid quote

   Provident insurance is probably a good company to start with – 6 month policy available. Sabre offer 3 or 6 month policies. Link loves ladies (6 months). Also look for the Corinthian Group. All should be available through your friendly local insurance broker.
