Yep, the next question is term or whole life. Suze Orman doesn't know jack about insurance, so you should research it yourself and make your own decision.Term – Really you are renting the insurance for a set period of time, maybe 30 years. It is the cheapest and will provide benefits for untimely death in those 30 yrs. Gets you from point A to B when maybe you are more financially secure and the kids are all grown up..Whole Life – More expensive, but you own the policy and cash value builds up over time based on deposits and the internal return on the policy. Can be borrowed against in times of need.Learn more about life insurance strategies and get quotes at:http://www.ohioinsureplan0o0com/index.php/… Source(s): Agent, ten + years

I am pretty sure you can get a life insurance policy on him. Before you make any decisions or commit to one company, I would make sure you do alot of research. You want to make sure you find the best policy for your family in case something does happen to your boyfriend.Life insurance doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive either. It's always a good idea to compare quotes for at least 3 different life insurance companies to see who offers you the best rate and coverage. The site below is a good resource because it allows you to compare quotes for all of the life insurance companies in your area for free.Good Luck! Hope this helped! As a life insurance agent, I would say yes. You have an "insurable Interest". You would be harmed financially if he were not around. Go to an life insurance agent in your area. I have attached a link for the "life Insurance association" with 70,000 professional agents nationwide. You can search for an agent by zip code. An agent will help you determine the type and amount to fit your budget. Source(s): http://www.naifa.org/consumer/advisor.cfm

You don't have to be fully married to take out insurance on someone. Since you've lived together for so long, you would be considered common law and you have a very good insurable interest in him.One thing most people over look is living benefits. Obviously if a spouse passes away it will leave a burden, but what if the spouse just isn't able to work? Then they become a liability and cost money for an extended period of time. You should seriously look into things like critical illness insurance, long term care insurance and/or disability insurance. Depending on your age, you are more likely to become sick or disabled than you are to die. You're best bet your be to contact an insurance broker. They will be able to shop around for you to find the best insurance product to suit your needs and budget. Avoid one trick pony's like Suze Orman or 'Buy Term and Invest The Rest' preachers, that preach 'one size fits all' products. Every person and situation and need is different and they should be looked at seperately. If you are in an area where there is a Customplan Financial office, contact them. They are one of the few insrurance and investment brokers that I have come across that is truly in it for the client and the advisor (which helps keep them honest) and not in it to raise corporate profits and sales. Any licensed insurance agent will be glad to help you or recommend someone who will. You could start by asking if your car ins rep if he handles life insurance. Also, ask the manager of your bank. Often,. banks have divisions which handle life ins.

He can get a life insurance policy on himself and name you and/or your daughter as the beneficiary. State Farm has them and, depending on how old he is, AARP.

I am not all that knowledgable but Suze Orman suggests term life insurance only. Not sure which companies are the most well regarded.

Sure it is. Just about any company will do it. You call a local, independent agent. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
