How much on average do you pay for your pro-rated car insurance premium?

I'm buying a new car in a few days and i was quoted about $1100 every 6 months…I'm a female driver btw….Do I have to pay the whole $1100 when I buy the car or a portion of it?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Do you already have an active policy? If so, it would depend on where you are at in your term. If you make monthly payments, they should just add your vehicle and adjust your monthly payments to make up the pro-rated difference. If you are just buying your policy (at the same time as your car), you will need to make some kind of payment, but the only time you need to pay the whole 6 months in advance is if you choose to do so. Most companies offer payment plans. Hope this helps. Source(s): 16 years insurance industry experience.

Not necessarily little sis. You could have asked me this .lol. You dont pay the full amount at once.It depends on how you are billed whether it is monthly or every 6 months. For my new car I pay $719.00 for my six months but since my car was purchased 6/26/09 I have it prorated from 6/26/09-11/8/09 which is my renewal date every six months so for the dates I just mentioned I pay $526.00 broken down monthly. After now it is $719.00 broken down monthly Source(s): me
