Best Answer – Chosen by Voters You don't. It only happens in the movies. No one can take a policy out on you without your cooperation, not to mention blood, urine and saliva samples. There is no "central database" where you can look yourself up. Source(s): agent, 21+ years

Most life insurance companies require a paramed on the insured so in all likelihood you do not have any life policies taken out on yourself. The exception would be a small whole life policy and if someone else is paying for it, who cares? Source(s): http://www.insuremylife.org

The most likely owners of a life insurance policy on you would be a family member or your employer. Some parents buy small policies on their children. Ask your parents.Insurance companies will not issue a policy to one person on another unless there is an "insurable interest". Basically, you have to explain why you need the insurance on them. You cannot buy life insurance on virtually anyone without their consent. All life insurance companies require a medical exam of you, including blood exam, if the amount of the policy is over a set amount. Typically that is $50,000 to $100,000. As to employers, the Pension Protection Act of 2006 requires written consent by employees acknowledging and agreeing to allow the employer to own life insurance on them. If it is an existing policy, they still have to give you notice.
