Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Tips on how to find lost life insurance policies:How to look for lost life insurance policies: ?Go through canceled checks or contact the insured's bank for copies of old checks. Look to see to whom checks were made out. You just may find an insurance company.?Ask those who may have known about the insured's financial situation. Try their lawyer, banker or accountant. Also try their auto or home insurance agent. They may know where the insured went for life insurance.?Contact the insured's past employer. An employer may know of possible group insurance. The insured may have also purchased supplemental insurance through work. ?Keep in mind that there is no national database of lost life insurance policies. Also, if the insured dies and three to five years later you, the beneficiary, still can't find the policy. There's a chance — though a slight one — that you can go to the state, rather than the company, to get the money.Try getting an instant quote below. Policies start at as little as $3 per month.Life Quotes: http://www.insureme0o0com/landing.aspx?Ref…Take care, Ron @ InsureMe Source(s): http://articles.moneycentral.msn0o0com/Ins…

Unless you can access their bank records and get the name of an insurance company they were paying or find the policies, there is really no way to find out. You could call every insurance company with name, social security number and address and you might get lucky and find one. However, it is more likely that you would miss a company rather than find the right one. That's why it is so important for people to have a place where they keep important papers. Be it a lock box at home or a safe deposit box at the bank. Sorry to be so bleak, but unless this person had a place where you can find the policies, it is the proverbial "looking for a needle in a haystack".

You have to go through their bank records for years, looking for insurance company payments, or their files of valuable papers, and sometimes the safety deposit box at the bank.
