Sure you can, there's no law against it! Of course, that person has to give permission, and the insurance company doesn't HAVE to write it. Most of the time, the insurance company won't write it. AND, if you lie about the cancer on the application, it voids the policy.**Even with cancer, you CAN buy a "guaranteed issue" life insurance policy, but there are a couple of catches – the person has to live at least TWO YEARS after you take the policy out, for it to pay; the maximum coverage amount is $10,000; AND, it's really expensive. Mutual of Omaha and Globe Life are two insurance companies that do this type of policy.**

You can purchase life insurance policies even though you have cancer. These policies will offer very low death benefits, usually $10,000 to $20,000 and limited benefits in the first two years, usually if the insured dies, the beneficiaries will receive only the premiums paid in plus a little interest.Remember, many people with cancer beat the disease. Many cancer survivors live 5 or 10 years or even longer. These people may never be "cured" but they can still enjoy life. The insurance companies know that many cancer patients have good survival prospects. Some insurance companies may issue a policy once treatment is complete. These policies will be expensive and will require a lot of work – letters going back and forth between you, the agent, the insurance company and the doctors. It is always better to plan ahead.Go meet with an agent ASAP and have your family make their own plans now too.Good LuckI hope you beat the disease.:-)

How much money would a company make if they wrote policies knowing they would have to pay soon. Insurance companies are in the business of collecting more than they pay out. They is how they continue to be a viable business. If a company offers to insure someone knowing they are going to die, you should worry about giving that company your money. If they pay out more than they collect they will go bankrupt and your claim wont be paid anyway. Source(s): http://www.getgliga0o0com

First, you would need that person's permission. Second, you would likely be unable to find a willing insurer. You can't wait till you're dying to apply for a policy.

No you cannot. Having cancer would make the person ineligible for life insurance.
